The Central Coast Railroad Festival is designed for the casual train buff and the avid rail fan. October 5: Art in the Park @ Dinosaur Caves
Art in the Park @ Dinosaur Caves in Shell Beach is a once-a-month event taking place on the first Sunday of every month from 10am-4pm, May through November. Over 100 local artists and craftsmen sell and display their work, including paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass, textiles, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and more. October 11: 20th Annual City to the Sea Half Marathon, 5K & Kids' Fun Run
This point-to-point half marathon begins in downtown San Luis Obispo and ends in beautiful Pismo Beach. As a major fundraiser for Cuesta College's award-winning cross country and track and field programs, everyone is encouraged to participate in this family-friendly event. If 13.1 miles is not your preferred distance, you'll love our much shorter 5K race (3.1 miles), which takes place in beautiful Pismo Beach. October 22-25: 38th Annual Jubilee by the Sea Jazz Festival
This premier west coast jazz event features many of the most sought-after traditional jazz bands from across the nation, including 20 bands and several guest artists performing at five venues, all connected by a shuttle bus system. October 24: Pumpkins on the Pier
Join us on the pier from 10 am - 1 pm for this free, family-fun event. Children 12 and under are encouraged to participate in Halloween-themed activities including pumpkin decorating, costume contests, games, crafts, and bounce houses. Get there early to receive one of the 600 pumpkins to give away, first come-first serve. The costume contest will start at 11:30 am and includes prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in four age divisions. An Adult Costume Contest will follow with an award given to the top two adults for best overall costume. The 10th Annual Trick or Treat Extravaganza will be held from 12 pm - 2 pm at participating downtown business locations. October 31: Monarch Butterfly Grove Opening Day Celebration
