May 4-6: International Chardonnay Symposium
The International Chardonnay Symposium brings top Chardonnay producers from around the world together for an in-depth exploration of the world's favorite grape and its impact on viticulture, tastemakers and the market. 2016 events will include a Grand Wine Tasting, educational seminar & panel sessions, a sumptuous multi-course Chardonnay dinner, and much more. May 14: Pacific Breeze Concert @ Dinosaur Caves Park
The Pacific Breeze Concert Series kicks off with a special Mother's Day Concert to honor all of the Moms out there. May 20: Vintage Trailer Rally
Held at Pismo Coast Village RV Resort. An open house for visitors is from 10 am to 3 pm. NOTE: there is no parking available within the resort.

May 27-28: Arroyo Grande Strawberry Festival
This annual festival takes place in the Arroyo Grande Village on the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. The Strawberry Festival is San Luis Obispo County's largest free festival, bringing together thousands of visitors and residents to enjoy activities and entertainment; kiddy carnivals; the Strawberry Stampede; hundreds of art, craft and display booths; ethnic foods; and scrumptious strawberry treats of all kinds, as well as fresh strawberries by the box! May 29: Memorial Day Ceremony on the Pier

July 22: Stride with the Tide 
This 5K race begins at 8:30am, with onsite registration only, from 7:15am-8:15am. Entry fees will be $10 without a race shirt and $20 with one. Shirts will be available for the first 120 racers, upon request. The course will be marked on the hard packed sand, starting and ending at the Pismo Beach Pier. Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three men and women ages 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, & 80+. August TBD: Misty May Dream in Gold Volleyball Clinic
On Saturday, August 6, three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Misty May-Treanor will host a beach volleyball clinic at the Wadsworth Avenue courts in Pismo Beach for youth ages 10-18. The clinic will run from 9 AM - 3 PM and will include direct instruction from Misty and her assistant coaches, personal autograph and photograph opportunities after the clinic is completed, a brief group question and answer session and a Dream In Gold Nike DriFit T-shirt. September 17: Coastal Cleanup Day
Join ECOSLO for the 32nd Annual Coastal Cleanup Day, taking place Saturday, September 17th from 9am-Noon.  Volunteer for this international day of cleanup at any of the 30 available sites in SLO County - invite family, friends, and co-workers to join you! Please dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring a reusable water bottle and sunscreen. Create less waste by bringing your reusable supplies such as litter grabbers, a bucket, and gloves. September 23-24: 80th Annual Arroyo Grande Harvest Festival
This community event is always a crowd-pleaser, with everything from parades to pie eating contests. The Harvest Festival serves as a tribute to agriculture, Arroyo Grande's leading industry. This festival focuses on the local non-profit organizations that serve the community. Bring the whole family for all of the weekend festivities. September 24-25: Billabong's Still Frothy Surf Festival
The Still Frothy Surf Festival is an exciting and unique 2-day event at the Pismo Beach Pier that includes the only tow-at (jet ski assist) air division on the Central Coast. October 9: 20th Annual City to the Sea Half Marathon, 5K & Kids' Fun Run
This point-to-point half marathon begins in downtown San Luis Obispo and ends in beautiful Pismo Beach. As a major fundraiser for Cuesta College's award-winning cross country and track and field programs, everyone is encouraged to participate in this family-friendly event. If 13.1 miles is not your preferred distance, you'll love our much shorter 5K race (3.1 miles), which takes place in beautiful Pismo Beach. October 27-30: 40th Annual Pismo Beach Jazz Jubilee
This premier west coast jazz event features many of the most sought-after traditional jazz bands from across the nation, including 25 bands and several guest artists performing at five venues, all connected by a shuttle bus system. New Orleans-style jazz, big band performances, dancing, food and beverages are available. New to the festival this year are two Thursday night kick-off events including Mardi Gras in October with High Street Band from Idaho and WE 3 +1 with special guest Larry Scala.  The highly anticipated Saturday Night Dance sets will encourage costumes and dancers of all ages. Join us on the pier from 10 am - 1 pm for this free, family-fun event. Children 12 and under are encouraged to participate in Halloween-themed activities including pumpkin decorating, costume contests, games, crafts, and bounce houses. Get there early, the first 500 children under 12 will receive a pumpkin to decorate! The costume contest will start at 11:30 am and includes prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in four age divisions. An Adult Costume Contest will follow with an award given to the top two adults for best overall costume. November 4-6: Harvest on the Coast
Join us for a weekend full of wine and fun, including winemaker dinners featuring great local cuisine paired with the best wines from SLO Wine Country. November 5: 38th Annual Marching Band Review
Marching Bands from around the area compete in several divisions in this annual event. Bands compete on Dolliver between Hinds and Main Streets from approximately 9am-12pm. The 5th annual South County Turkey Trot at the Beach presented by the Grover Beach - 5 Cities Rotary Club, a benefit for the SLO Food Bank in memory of Christine Allen will be held Thanksgiving morning, November 24h, at 8:30 am rain or shine. Sign up at the south side of the Pier.

Thousands of beautiful orange and black Monarch Butterflies can be seen clustering in the Eucalyptus and Cypress trees at the Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove every winter. From November-February the grove is staffed daily by our knowledgeable docents from 10 am - 4 pm, with talks given at 11 am and 2 pm. Located on Highway 1 just south of the Pismo State Beach North Beach Campground the grove offers FREE admission and FREE parking. Don't miss this spectacular wonder of nature. January 9: 14th Annual Black & White Ball

TBD: 9th Annual Model Railroad Day
Local train buffs, modelers, historians and kids of all ages are encouraged to attend this year's Model Railroad Day celebration. This popular free community event will run from 10 am - 4 pm at the historic Oceano Depot. The San Luis Obispo Model Railroad Association (SLOMRA) will display a wide variety of operating model trains and the entire Depot will be open to display its unique artifacts from Oceano and the adjacent railroad. February 4: Father-Daughter Dance
This event is for young ladies ages 3-18 and the man in their lives (Dad). We are proud to host a semi-formal evening of dancing and fun. Pre-registration is required to this enjoyable evening from 6 pm - 8:30 pm. Snacks, beverages, flowers for dad's "date" and a keepsake photo will be provided. Tickets are $30 per couple - each additional child in the same family is $10. (An adult male must accompany each young lady.) This event will be held at the Pismo Beach Veterans Hall. February 4: California Western Monarch Day
Plans are in place for a joyful celebration for Western Monarch Day at the Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove. There will be butterfly talks and educational booths for adults, as well as art activities for children. The main attraction, however, is the thousands of Monarchs hanging in huge clusters from the eucalyptus and pine trees in the grove. The grove will remain open through the month of February from 10 am - 4 pm with docents providing daily talks at 11 am and 2 pm. Daily: Monarch Butterfly Grove Talks
Thousands of beautiful orange and black Monarch Butterflies can be seen clustering in the Eucalyptus and Cypress trees at the Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove every winter. From November-February the grove is staffed daily by our knowledgeable docents from 10 am - 4 pm, with talks given at 11 am and 2 pm. Located on Highway 1 just south of the Pismo State Beach North Beach Campground the grove offers FREE admission and FREE parking. Don't miss this spectacular wonder of nature. TBD: Central Coast Orchid Show Preview Benefit, in Arroyo Grande
The Orchid Show Preview Benefit for the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center will be held Friday evening, April 1, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm, to support their educational outreach. This elegant evening includes Central Coast wines, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, live music, a silent auction and an awards presentation. As guest judges, local celebrities and mayors will select their favorite orchid. Attendees get the first selection of orchids for purchase, and will have the opportunity to talk with the vendors prior to the show opening to the general public. Tickets for the benefit are $45. April 1-2: 22nd Annual Central Coast Orchid Show & Sale, in Arroyo Grande
Join us on Saturday from 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday from 10 am - 5 pm for door prizes, demonstrations and more. The American Orchid Society will judge plants being exhibited. Vendors will offer a large variety of orchids, orchid books and orchid supplies for sale. Orchid culture re-potting demonstrations and plant doctors will provide valuable information to orchid enthusiasts. General admission tickets are just $5 and children 12 and under are free. April 15: Easter Eggstravaganza
The City of Pismo Beach Parks & Recreation Department presents the annual Easter Eggstravaganza from 10am-1pm. Festivities will be held at Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach, and the hunt is FREE! The celebration includes games, bounce houses, face painting, a balloon artist and much more. Participants are asked to bring their own basket or bag to collect their eggs and goodies. The Easter Bunny might even be available for photos, so be sure to bring your cameras! To ensure the safety of all participants, different hunt times are scheduled for different age groups as follows:
Ages 3 & Under: 10:10am
Ages 4-6: 10:40am
Ages 7-9: 11:10am
Ages 10-12: 11:40am
