Art in the Park @ Dinosaur Caves is proud to announce its seventh year of promoting local artisans of the Central Coast. This once-a-month event takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach, along the path where the ocean meets the cliffs, on the first Sunday of every month (except July's will be on Saturday) from May through November with over 100 local artists and craftsmen selling and displaying their work. The art include paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass, textiles, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and more. Monarch Butterfly Tours at the Monarch Butterfly Grove. These beautiful orange and black "fairy-like" creatures begin to appear in late October in California's largest Monarch grove. Thousands cluster in our Eucalyptus trees, giving the appearance of golden leaves. The Monarch butterfly grove is located on Highway 1 just south of the North Pismo State Beach Campground. Marching Bands from around the area compete in several divisions in this annual event. Bands compete on Dolliver between Hinds and Main Streets from approximately 9:00 to 12:00.
